ABOUT MOUNT EDEN
Mount Eden was built on an acre of land, which formed part of the original wine estate, Debaren, which has been in the owner’s family since 1950. The farm was subdivided into acre residential plots in the mid 1970’s and several stands were developed by the owners, including Mount Eden. The guest house is near the end of Debaren Close, the road having been named after the original 10 acre wine farm. |

The property is next door to the Stillness Wellness Centre and Spa and behind the highly acclaimed and successful golfing estate, Steenberg. Westlake and Clovelly golf courses are also nearby. Reddam, one of Cape Town’s top schools is 5 minutes away and Constantia Village and Blue Route shopping centres are in close proximity. Horse riding is also available in the area and many properties have stabled horses.
Rare birds that occur in the area include the chaffinch, introduced to the Cape by Cecil John Rhodes at the turn of the 20th century and now found only in the Tokai forest and parts of Cape Peninsula. The Cape Eagle owl is another rarity in the area, along with the more common Spotted Eagle and Wood owls, which are often heard nocturnally. Honey Buzzard has been spotted in summer months in the forest.
Mount Eden is an exclusive, luxury guest house with limited, yet spacious accommodation. Three generously proportioned, themed suites are available on a bed and breakfast rate. The two main suites are fully air conditioned (heating and cooling) and also have ceiling fans. All bathrooms have shower and bath. Each suite has a fully stocked bar fridge (for own account) with tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a safe to store valuables. A swimming pool and jacuzzi are available to our guests. DSTV and a wi fi internet connection are available throughout the house. There is a small study, which can be used as an office, with printing and faxing facilities available. The main office is occupied from 8am to 5pm weekdays.
The owners have an interest in a game farm within a wildlife Conservancy in the Limpopo Valley, between Musina and the Kruger National Park. They have travelled extensively within SA and neighbouring countries and will be happy to assist you with advice and bookings regarding destinations within SA and outside its borders. |
